Grazie. I was happy with them too. The frame will tie my signature into the corner more so it shouldn't distract too much from the jacket.
And... I managed to finish it and leave lots of yellow on their faces,and a little bit of mauve...
How much of your composition do your frames normally over?
Good question. Mmmm... thinks hard... up to one and half centimetres it seems. Have been caught by signing too low before.
Each side?
Each side... that's quite a bit of painting to lose.
the portrait is 50 x 60 so losing a little all round is OK, but I still paint to the edges just in case it is framed differently.
This one is to go into a modern apartment, while the others went into very traditional Italian homes where they are in gold frames. I recommended wooden frames for this one and the one with the greenery in the background.
